Founded in 1994, but our story goes back much further
In 1994, NNIT saw the light of day as an independent business unit of Novo Nordisk, later to be established as an independent company, called Novo Nordisk IT. Fast-forward 30+ years, and we’re a publicly listed IT consulting company specializing in life sciences globally and the public sector in Denmark with about 1,700 colleagues helping to improve quality of life for patients and citizens across the world.
Going way back, the NNIT activities operated as internal IT departments in Denmark's largest pharmaceutical company, Novo Nordisk. Then, in June 1994, Novo Nordisk combined all its IT activities in an independent enterprise under the name Novo Nordisk IT.
Because we evolved from the internal IT department of Denmark's largest pharmaceutical company, all the virtues of one of the world's most regulated industries are deeply rooted in our DNA. Security, compliance, quality, and excellence are always part of our mindset, and we have a profound knowledge of the key challenges facing regulated companies.
Evolving with Purpose
We quickly discovered that it is not just pharmaceutical companies that demand IT services with extraordinary requirements for documentation, quality and security. As time marched on, Novo Nordisk IT's growth began to accelerate and was primarily driven by customers not linked to the Novo Nordisk Group. And in 2004, we changed our name to NNIT.
The business continued to accelerate, and in 2006 we opened a branch in China, thereby further strengthening our business and skills.
Since then, we gradually and continuously expanded with new offices across Asia, Europe and USA. And starting in 2017, we expanded further via the acquisitions of Scales Group, Valiance Partners, Halfmann Goetsch Partner, Excellis Health Solutions, SL Controls and prime4services.
In 2023, we embarked on a New Beginning as a more focused IT consultancy specializing in life sciences globally and the public and private sectors in Denmark.
